Data Sets

Conservation International, or CI, is a leading non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to protecting nature for people, and ensuring a healthy and productive planet. CI and HP have teamed up to combine big data solutions with biodiversity science to create a first-of-its-kind, early warning system for threatened species. Through HP Earth Insights, CI and the Tropical Ecology Assessment and Monitoring (TEAM) Network are dramatically accelerating their global biodiversity data collection and analysis of millions of inputs from climate sensors, vegetation, wildlife camera traps and other sources.

The data sets from CI, and the Tropical Ecology Assessment and Monitoring (TEAM) Network have been made available for the Hackathon to provide a really exciting and meaningful challenge to those participating in the Hackathon

The Hackathon challenge will seek to further improve the speed and accuracy by which CI can discern key factors such as land use, climate change and human encroachment impacting the health of tropical forests, the ecosystem services they provide surrounding communities and the species living within them.
