Martin Arlitt
Senior Researcher
HP Labs
Martin Arlitt is a senior research scientist at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories (HP Labs) in Palo Alto, CA, where he has worked since 1997. His general research interests are workload characterization and performance evaluation of distributed computer systems. Currently, he is evaluating the performance and scalability of Vertica as an analytics platform for the Internet of Things era. His 80+ research papers have been cited more than 7,000 times (according to Google Scholar). He has 20 granted patents and many more pending. He is an ACM Distinguished Scientist and a senior member of the IEEE. In 2012 he was program co-chair of ACM SIGMETRICS, the world’s premiere venue for research publications on performance evaluation.
Malu Castellanos

Malu Castellanos is a technical lead in the Advanced R&D team at Vertica West in Sunnyvale, CA, USA where she has been working primarily on the Pulse product. Before joining Vertica she was a senior researcher and research manager in the Analytics Lab at HP Labs. During her 15 years career at Labs she worked on different areas related to data management including databases, analytics (with main focus on text), analytics platforms and business process intelligence. She participates actively in the data management community where she has served as PC member and industrial chair of various IEEE and ACM international conferences, has been invited to give keynotes and is a vice chair in the Executive Committee of the IEEE Technical Committee of Data Engineering. Malu obtained her engineering degree at the National University of Mexico and her PhD in CS degree at the Polytechnic University of Catalunya (Barcelona) where he became a professor before joining HP.
Chris Daly
Chief Outbound Engineer Big Data Systems Engineering
Chris Daly is the Chief Outbound Engineer in the Big Data Systems Engineering organization at HP. Having been at HP in one form or another for the past 17 years, he has spent the last several years focused on bringing customers an appliance like approach to Analytics. In his current role, he is responsible for interfacing with field resources and customers for solutions around the HP ConvergedSystem 300 for Vertica.
Andrea Fabrizi
Business Line Manager of Telco Big Data and Analytics Communications and Media Solutions
As Manager of Telco Big Data and Analytics solution family, Andrea Fabrizi is responsible for the strategy, creation and evolution of solutions and products, go to market, revenue generation and overall financial management of the Telco Big Data and Analytics solution family within Communications and Media Solutions Business (CMS). Andrea Fabrizi joined HP Italy in 1997 bringing his experience on project management and business development to grow HP activities in Telco BSS space. Under Andrea’s leadership, the HP Italian BSS team became the largest in HP EMEA by revenues volume.He is recognized as a subject matter on the evolving business and technology needs of the telecommunications industry. Key areas of his expertise include: Telco Big Data, Customer intelligence, Content Delivery Network, Security and Legal compliances and Billing and CRM. Andrea hold a master Physics at the Universita’ “La Sapienza”, Roma. He hold a Postgraduate degree in Solid State Physic at Solid State School of Physics “Ettore Maiorana” in Erice (Italy).
Gitali Halder
Manager of Global Analytics
Gitali Halder is an Analytics Manager at Hewlett-Packard. She has 8 years of Analytics experience in data mining, statistical analysis and predictive modeling in Banking, Credit Cards, Retail and IT industries.
She currently leads an Analytics team responsible for building solutions and commercializing them. She represents HP Analytics in multiple external forums like Predictive Analytics World, Conversion Conference, Indian Institute of Management etc.
Prior to joining HP, she worked with JP Morgan Chase and Fractal Analytics. She has a Master degree in Economics from Delhi School of Economics.
Brad Hopper
VP Technology, Office of the CTO

Brad Hopper is a member of TIBCO’s Office of the CTO, specializing in the integration of analytics into real time, event processing architectures. During his tenure at TIBCO, Brad crafted TIBCO’s strategy for closed loop human and automated decision making systems and sponsored customer projects of this type in Manufacturing, Health Care, Oil & Gas, Transportation and other operationally intensive industries. Prior to TIBCO, Brad held roles of increasing responsibility in Product Management, Professional Services, and Technical Marketing at Spotfire, eventually owning responsibility for all vertical markets. Originally Brad was a practitioner of analytics in Silicon valley, working on Yield Management for semiconductor microprocessors and flash memory. Brad has a BS and MS in Materials Science from UC Berkeley.

Manav Shroff is a Senior Analytics Manager at HP. He has over 13 years of proven track record of driving impact for Fortune 500 companies in the areas of customer analytics, web analytics, market research, emerging markets strategy, knowledge management and campaign operations . At HP, he helped develop its e-commerce customer insight solution and is currently responsible for commercializing these solutions. Manav is recognized as an Edelman Laureate by the prestigious Franz Edelman Committee/INFORMS for his contributions in the field of e-commerce / customer analytics.
Bruce Yen

Mr. Yen is currently the Director of Business Intelligence at Guess?, Inc. and leads the global business intelligence, mobile applications, analytics, data warehousing initiatives. He specializes in creating a cohesive data dissemination strategy that brings actionable data to diverse user communities and business needs.
His team has implemented and designed award-winning mobile BI applications and dashboards. Mr. Yen is a recognized leader in business intelligence and has received industry recognition as an innovative and cutting-edge information manager utilizing user-friendly, visual interfaces.
Mr. Yen has over 15 years of experience in designing and implementing business intelligence and data warehouse solutions for retail, CRM and manufacturing while utilizing advanced analytics and database technologies.  Mr. Yen received his education from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Jeff Veis

Jeff Veis is the Vice President of Solutions Marketing for HP Autonomy responsible globally for Product, Partner and Field Marketing initiatives.
Jeff has been in the enterprise software industry for more than 20 years and has experience in marketing, strategy, sales, and partnering. He founded the Liberty Alliance Project, a global federated identity technology and public policy business and technology alliance.
Prior to joining HP Autonomy, Jeff worked at SAP BusinessObjects, BEA, Sun Microsystems, ActiveGrid, NEC, and Booz-Allen and Capgemini. He holds a B.S in Computer Science from Northwestern University and a MBA from the J.L Kellogg Graduate School of Management.  Jeff is based in Mountain View, California.
